![]() If your POS is housed in your ecommerce platform, all of this occurs by default.Ģ. Omni-channel is hard work.□ Making loyalty points, gift cards, click & collect and even basic customer details sync between a POS system and Ecommerce platform when the data needs to flow between a maze of ERP and middleware is hard. why is Shopify POS all of a sudden the real deal? I’d say there’s three main reasons:ġ. It’s been around forever, but it has spent most of its lifetime as an iPad app that most considered a good tool for pop-up stores and start-ups. We'll have to consider other solutions more seriously now.Īt some point in the past little while Shopify POS got all grown up! Initially we thought that we could continue to grow with them and be one of their bigger case studies in the region, but it seems like their focus is elsewhere and there are not enough of our size & "types" to get better solutions.Īn important reminder for us to always review platforms and partners and not be too dependent on one. Yet other providers are willing to provide incentives, even pay us to potentially develop other solutions. So we have to accept higher fees, for worse solution and worse support. Seems to suggest that they're focusing more on smaller players, which seems strange to me. We've waited for a few months now but the replies are mostly the same. While they say they'll see what they can do because we're at a certain level, apparently our size and business structure is not common enough for them to come up with specific solution for us. It's disappointing that the platform that we started out on and grew with started to require merchants to use their features instead of other 3rd-party solutions.īut their features are not as well-developed, much more expensive and their support is much more limited, much less helpful. ![]()
